We are looking for disaster volunteer interpreter to support foreigners in the event of a disaster.
Those who are 18 years of age or older and can speak foreign languages (including simple translations) in everyday conversation.
Any language and nationality will do.
Those who are interested in supporting foreigners using「Easy Japanese」※
Japanese that is easy to understand for foreigners. In the event of a disaster,
it was designed to enable foreigners to receive the necessary information and take appropriate actions and
uses simpler terms and simple sentence structures than the Japanese used in daily conversation.
It is used during the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake, and its effectiveness has been proven.
Because it is a simple expression, it is a word that can convey information easily to not only foreigners but also elderly people and children.
We perform an interpretation of disaster response duties in place (shelter and consultation counter, etc.) which Toyohashi city appoints at the time of disaster.
It is necessary to register as a disaster interpreter for Toyohashi International Association.
There is no payment for rewards or transportation expenses.
