What kind of activities can you do as a volunteer?

In our association, we have the following four kinds of volunteers.

Project planning and volunteer management (Operation Section)

Volunteer who plans and operates the projects implemented by our association.
Specifically, there are activities such as "Toyohashi International Festival", "Toyohashi Gion Fireworks Appreciation Event", "Toyohashi Festival Sou Odori" and International Exchange Salon.

Translation and interpretation volunteer

Volunteer who translates and interprets at the request of the association or public institution.
As a rule, the association will communicate with the requester.
We have established a system called ”Helping Hand” for person or group who wants to request an interpreter or translator other than for profit purposes. This is a system in which the client can select an appropriate person from the interpreter/translation registration list at any time and request it through the association.
If you register, we can provide compensation and free conditions. Communication with the requester after the introduction will be done by yourself.

Japanese Language Volunteer (Japanese Language Section)

A volunteer who operates the course called "Japanese Language" that teaches Japanese to foreigners living in the community.
We also organize the “Japanese Speech Contest by Foreigners” and social gathering with foreign participants.

Homestay & home visit volunteer

A volunteer that serves as a host family that offers the opportunity to stay and visit Japanese homes to visiting groups from sister cities, friendship cities, etc., as well as trainees from abroad.
It will also be an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and friendship.

What are the requirement for application?

Active residents of Toyohashi City and nearby residents can register.

How to register as a volunteer?

Please fill in the required information on the International Exchange Volunteer Registration Form (hon torouku) and the registration form of each volunteer you wish to distribute at the association secretariat, and submit it to Toyohashi International Association.

Others

• We have joined the volunteer activity insurance of the Aichi Social Welfare Council so that our volunteers can work at ease.
• If there is a fact inappropriate as a volunteer, we may refuse the activity.
